AUSVEG Deputy Chair Belinda Adams attended the launch of Coles’ Fresh 5 Challenge program last week.

The Fresh 5 Challenge program has partnered with the the non-profit Stephanie Alexander Kitchen Garden Foundation (SAKGF) program to encourage children to develop a healthy relationship with food.

Based on the Australian Dietary Guidelines of children aged between four and 11 – which recommend one serve of protein, two serves of fruit, three serves of calcium, four serves of grains and five serves of vegetables per day – the healthy eating challenge aims to help children have fun with food.

SAKGF founder Stephanie Alexander and Coles Fresh ambassador and celebrity chef Curtis Stone were on-hand at the launch to help educate children of the importance of consuming a healthy diet.

10 cents from every large spinach pack sold at Coles will go directly to the program.
