Final preparations for this year’s East Gippsland Vegetable Innovation Days (EGVID) are now taking shape, with plans firmly in place to maximise all online engagement opportunities.

Despite COVID-19 impacting the traditional delivery of the popular industry-funded event, EGVID 2020 will still be hosted in Lindenow. The event will now be held across three days from 5-7 May, and you can attend in-person or virtually.

Physical attendance to the site will be strictly by invitation and online pre-registration only.

In accordance with regulations and directives from Victoria Police and the Victorian Department of Health, at any one time, up to 50 growers can visit the seed demonstration site at Maddies Paddock. This is located at Bulmer Farms in Lindenow.

Complying with all existing social distancing regulations associated with COVID-19, a maximum of two representatives from any growing operation are permitted to register online to attend the site.

Half-day sessions are available. There are two timeslots, which are 8am to 12pm and then 1pm to 5pm. Please note: physical attendance will be strictly by invitation and pre-registration only.

To enquire about booking a timeslot to attend EGVID 2020, growers and industry representatives are asked to contact Bonnie Dawson on 0407 683 938 or by emailing info@egvid.com.au.

No longer just a ‘field day’, EGVID 2020 will focus on data capture and dissemination, as well as live streaming this information on the event’s social media channels and webinars.

A small video production crew will be gathering a wide range of footage and insights about the trials. This is an initiative made possible by Hort Innovation and a suite of industry sponsors, led by Zorvec Active from Corteva.

Search ‘EGVID 2020’ on Facebook, Twitter and Instagram to follow the action next week. There will be live crosses throughout the three days, from 8am to 5pm (AEST).
