The hugely popular Horticulture Field Day is returning to Hort Connections, and this year’s tour of local industry sites promises to be a valuable excursion for any grower looking to broaden their perspectives about production in our sector.

AUSVEG will be running the grower tour on Monday 18 June before the official Welcome Reception kicks off Hort Connections 2018, giving delegates a chance to start their Hort Connections experience with some time in the field.

This tour will visit the Brisbane Produce Market to give interstate growers a look at how the central fresh produce market in Queensland operates, as well as stopping in at John Deere, one of the most recognised brands in agriculture and a leading machinery provider to Australian growers.

Participants on the tour will also get the chance to visit two farms in the Gatton region: Windolf Farms, owned by 2016 AUSVEG Women in Horticulture award-winner Sharon Windolf, and Koala Farms, run by 2017 AUSVEG Grower of the Year Anthony Staatz.

The tour will run from 6:00am to 3:30pm, with lunch provided to participants.

This is a great opportunity to see some of the area’s leading local horticulture operations and have a chat about production with other growers, so don’t miss out on your chance to come along on the tour – register for Hort Connections 2018 today!
