Queensland producers have the opportunity to learn how to assess their soil from a soil chemistry ‘guru’ later this month.

Workshops will be held in the Mary Valley on 29 July, central Burnett on 30 July, and in the Rockhampton region on 31 July.

Hosted by Growcom, producers attending the first workshops can expect to get their hands dirty as they work with Hort360 facilitator Michelle Haase and agronomist David Hall to use simple in-field soil assessment activities that can be easily applied on their own farm.

Mr Hall will use a soil pit and hands-on activities to assist producers in learning how to determine their soil type, its water holding capacity, pH and other factors.
