Growers and workers urged to fill out NFF piece rates in horticulture survey
The Australian Workers Union has launched an application through the Fair Work Commission (FWC) to impose a minimum hourly floor payment for piece-rates under the Horticulture Award.
AUSVEG, through the National Farmers Federation (NFF) Horticulture Council, is opposing this application as it considers that this would render piece-rates ineffective as a productivity and earning instrument to the detriment of both employers and employees.
AUSVEG is calling on vegetable growers, supervisors and managers, as well as workers, to provide further information in this survey to inform the FWC’s consideration of the application.
By completing this survey, you will be providing us with valuable feedback about the on-the-ground realities of how piece rates are applied in practice and the way they are perceived.
