From this month, the Australian Bureau of Statistics (ABS) will be asking farmers about their agricultural production, land and water use in 2020-21 and to complete the Agricultural Census.

Statistics from the collection are invaluable to government and industry, as they provide a comprehensive picture of agriculture at a national, state and regional level.

The Agricultural Census is a sizable operation, with over 100,000 farms included. Participation in the survey is critical to the reliability of the statistics produced and the level of detail the ABS can provide in statistics.

Farmers participating in the survey are asked to complete and return forms by 5 August 2021.
