Growers around the nation are eligible to apply for a range of levy-funded capacity-building opportunities being delivered through Hort Innovation.

Hort Innovation is delivering more than $10 million in development initiatives right now, which are bespoke to growers’ businesses and offer the chance to learn about best-practice internationally and build networks that support learning from and sharing with peers.

The following opportunities are on offer right now, with more available throughout the year:

  • Masterclass in horticultural business: Fully-funded scholarships are available for vegetable, onion, strawberry, nursery, rubus and avocado growers. Best described as a ‘mini MBA’, the Masterclass is a year-long course where participants turn their business ideas into actionable business plans.
  • To attract a new generation to Australian horticulture, a range of initiatives exist for university students that encourage them to specialise in key areas. The Emerging Leaders in Protected Cropping masterclass and the Horizon Scholarship are two examples.
  • A host of opportunities and resources also exist for growers to try new technologies, and learn about best-growing-practices through online resources such as VEGPRO and soil management through levy-funded initiatives, such as Soil Wealth.

Keep up-to-date with these types of levy-funded opportunities here.
