Headquartered in Melbourne’s Werribee South region, Fresh Select is one of the largest lettuce and brassica growers in Australia. As a leader in innovation, sustainable farming techniques and responsible practices, the company is also one of the first to trial precision agriculture technologies in vegetables.

Despite the theoretical benefits of precision agriculture and its uptake in broadacre systems, the rate of its adoption by growers of many other crops remains low.

This case study, co-developed with VegNET Victoria and Soil Wealth ICP, provides an overview of how precision agriculture technologies were applied in the field at Fresh Select.

Find out about the technologies chosen to help address some of the challenges posed by the sodic-saline soils in the growing region, and how the results were interpreted to guide future production decisions.
