Insects, whether they’re pests or beneficial species, can become unwanted contaminants in consumers’ fresh produce.

This Soil Wealth ICP best practice guide summarises the key findings of a project conducted by Applied Horticultural Research and Harvest Fresh Cuts, which focused on finding ways to control contaminants and assess their impact in processed leafy vegetable products.

It outlines which insect groups are most relevant and some strategies to reduce their contamination of packaged produce.
