SUMMARY:Webinar: Internal Fruit Rot of Capsicum – Project summary
DESCRIPTION:Join the SWICP team as we talk with the (VG17012) Internal fruit rot of capsicums project team. Dr Jenny Ekman\, Dr Len Tesoriero\, Dr Naomi Diplock and Ryan Hall will discuss the findings of management trials\, disease surveys\, and pathogenicity trials from the project and suggestions for the future. \nInternal Fruit Rot of capsicums is an important disease in capsicum fruit. Caused by a number of fungal species the disease can remain hidden until it reaches to consumers\, resulting in complaints and reductions in consumer confidence. \n\nThis webinar will cover the trials undertaken to identify the causal organisms in Australia\, in-crop management trials \,and postharvest trials. \nFor more information please contact Ryan Hall on 0406 994 509 or ryan.hall@ahr.com.au from Applied Horticultural Research

SUMMARY:Optimising Fertiliser Use: Demonstration Trial Walk in North Motton (TAS)
DESCRIPTION:Join PotatoLink for a field walk at the PotatoLink Tasmanian demonstration site\, where they are exploring ways to optimise fertiliser practices for potato crops. The demonstration is focused on: \n\nEvaluating the impact of different fertiliser rates and timings (pre-spread\, at planting\, and top-dress) on potato crop yield (marketable tuber weight)\, quality (size distribution\, defects and specific gravity).\nCompare a crop sampling-based fertiliser program with a conventional fertiliser program to determine their effectiveness in optimising fertiliser use and profitability over a single growing season.\n\nDuring the field walk\, you will hear about the strategies employed\, view and discuss the crop sampling results to date and understand how these results are shaping the fertiliser program\, and its impact on productivity. \nYou can read more about the demonstration trial here. \nContact: \nFor more information\, please contact Tim Walker\, Regional Representative\, PotatoLink\, tim.walker@potatolink.com.au or 0439 333 811 or Sophia Thach\, Applied Horticultural Research\, sophia.thach@ahr.com.au or 0413 937 313. \nThe field walk will kick off with a BBQ lunch\, registration is essential for catering purposes.
