DESCRIPTION:The Annual Murray Bridge event will bring together a number of key speakers designed for local growers in the region and will be followed by a social dinner and drinks for guests. We hope you can join us for this year’s event\, which will include a number of presentations relevant to industry including: \nIndustry Advocacy Forum\nAUSVEG SA will provide an industry update on key issues and campaign priorities facing growers and our work with government including: \n\nNational water policy work to safeguard food production in the lead up to the next drought\nWater market and availability forecast for Murray River growers from our friends at Waterfind Australia\nUpdate on our campaign to amend the Local Nuisance Act to prevent housing encroachment impeding fresh produce businesses through complaints\nAn opportunity for local growers to raise regional issues for AUSVEG SA to take up with government\n\n\n\nWeeds Forum\n\n“What does herbicide resistance look like? How can resistance be management? Where can I get ryegrass tested to find out which herbicides don’t work for me anymore? \nFollowing significant feedback from local growers\, our friends from the AUSVEG national extension team will be hosting a Weeds Forum with a focus on production issues relevant to SA growers. \n\nJoin us for a chat on all things weed management featuring Dr Chris Preston from Adelaide University and Dr Peter Boutsalis from Plant Science Consulting who will do a deep dive into the trends in chemical resistance in South Australia. \nIn addition\, leading agronomists will talk on management from a broadacre perspective and how we can take these learnings to the onion\, vegetable and potato industries as well as what can be done differently!
