SUMMARY:Forthside Open Day (Forth)
DESCRIPTION:Home / Tasmanian Institute of AgricultureThe Tasmanian Institute of Agriculture (TIA) Vegetable Research Facility in Forthside is once again throwing open its doors for its open day\, which will be held this year on Wednesday 10 October. \nThe facility’s annual open day is a great chance for growers and agronomists to see research and development in action\, talk to researchers about their projects\, and network with other industry members who are interested in agronomy. \nAfter the field day finishes\, the TIA will be putting on a spit roast dinner from 4.00pm-6.00pm where you can grab a bite to eat and catch up with other attendees. \nThis year’s event is once again free to attend and will feature current agronomy trials being run by the TIA\, including research into: \n\nseed management;\nbiosecurity;\nsoil health; and\nstrip tillage.\n\nThe field day is being run in collaboration with the levy-funded VegNET project\, which is being delivered in Tasmania by RMCG. \nIf you haven’t been to the research facility before\, the TIA has created an virtual tour where you can explore the site before coming along to the open day. \nWe also published an article about last year’s open day in Vegetables Australia magazine\, so if you’d like to know what you can expect\, take a look at page 48 of the January/December edition (page 25 of the PDF). \nTo register to attend the event\, visit its Eventbrite page. If you’re after more information\, get in touch with Leonie White via e-mail at leonie.white@utas.edu.au.
