AUSVEG National Manager – Export Development Michael Coote appeared in online news this week in stories covering Australia’s newly signed free trade agreement with Indonesia. Mr Coote also appeared in coverage of a recent inbound trade mission coordinated by AUSVEG that took Japanese buyers and processors to visit some of Tasmania’s leading horticultural producers. AUSVEG National Marketing Manager Nathan McIntyre appeared in print and online media this week discussing the news that the Hort Connections 2019 Trade Show will be sponsored by FMA/CMAA representing Australia’s fresh produce markets. Mr McIntyre said that these co-hosts will help Hort Connections reach a wider number of people in the horticulture sector, which has historically been highly fragmented. AUSVEG National Manager – Communications Shaun Lindhe continued to appear across television, radio and print news commenting on the impact of recent weather events on the price of Australian-grown vegetables. Mr Lindhe noted that the move by some retailers to display signs explaining the reasons behind supply and price changes for fresh produce was an initiative that helps to bridge the gap between consumers and where their food comes from.
