AUSVEG CEO James Whiteside appeared in online media this week discussing the horticulture industry’s need for a labour solution, ahead of the federal election. Mr Whiteside noted that having access to a dependable, stable workforce is key to a successful industry, and the introduction of a dedicated Agriculture Visa would make significant progress in addressing this issue. AUSVEG National Manager – Public Affairs Tyson Cattle appeared on broadcast and in online media today urging the Federal Government to commit to strengthening Australia’s biosecurity systems. Mr Cattle said that while growers have implemented strict on-farm biosecurity practices, it was important for the government to adequately fund a strong national system to keep the industry on the front line of defence against pests and diseases.
