AUSVEG in the media (week ending 26/06/18)
AUSVEG CEO James Whiteside appeared on ABC’s Landline this week in a feature story on labour in the horticulture industry and the impact of the proposed addition of overtime to the Horticulture Award. Mr Whiteside noted that growers find it hard to pass costs on, including any increases in wages, and that AUSVEG would be talking to supermarkets about how to handle any cost increase if the Award is amended. To view the full story, which includes interviews with growers, researchers, retail experts and union representatives, watch it on the ABC website.
Mr Whiteside also appeared on ABC’s 7.30 covering the same story. This episode can also be viewed on the ABC website.
