On-farm renewables are a valuable opportunity for farmers to cut costs and emissions. In horticulture, 70% of our emissions are from fuel and electricity, over half of which is energy used in our irrigation systems.
That’s why AUSVEG attended the National Renewables in Agriculture Conference last week in Albury, NSW.
With the new Climate Change Legislation, it is increasingly important growers are on the front foot of the emissions conversation and understand what they can do to cut costs and emissions.
AUSVEG will be releasing more insights from the conference as well as other resources to help growers make the best decision for their business.
The conference brought together farmers, agriculture and energy consultants, peak bodies and Government representatives to share stories of on-farm renewables, their business case and discuss what’s driving the transformation of energy use in agriculture.
