AUSVEG Peri-Urban Biosecurity Pilot Program
19 November 2024Onion domestic marketing plan FY25
10 December 2024This project is elevating the sustainability narrative of the Australian vegetable and onion industries by highlighting the industries’ achievements in sustainability to key audiences, while also identifying areas to improve.
Challenge
The Australian vegetable and onion industries consistently deliver high-quality, healthy, fresh produce to consumers in both the domestic and international markets. However, there is an opportunity to communicate the industries’ sustainability efforts and achievements to stakeholders, ensuring these efforts are recognised and valued.
Response
This project will identify, present, and communicate the sustainability achievements of the vegetable and onion industries by leveraging evidence-based data and implementing a strategic communications plan. Existing evidence will be collected, and strategically disseminated and targeted initiatives will be developed to address gaps in the sustainability narrative, ensuring a comprehensive and impactful story is delivered to stakeholders.
Benefit
By amplifying the industries’ sustainability performance, the project will enhance recognition and valuation among key stakeholders, particularly the first points of sale such as retailers and customers.
By improving industry capabilities and stakeholder understanding of sustainability efforts, the project is expected to strengthen the position of Australian vegetable and onion industries and drive long-term success.
