23 June 2020To engage children to become their own pest warrior, a new set of resources has been made available by the AGVIC managed Urban Plant Health Network.
Aimed at urban school kids and gardeners, a creative manga-styled comic features a “pest warrior’ character, who shows how fun and important it is to look out for top exotic plant pests that are potentially impacting a range of industries.
In addition, the Network has created a series of downloadable kids’ activity books about the several particularly ‘bad bugs’ that we don’t want in Australian gardens.
They include:
- brown marmorated stink bug
- glassy-winged sharpshooter
- Asian citrus psyllid
- spotted wing drosophila
- red imported fire ant
- Asian honey bee
The activity books contains information about what they are, where they’re from and why they’re so bad; along with some fun activities.
