AWM webinar: In control – managing capsicum viruses for profitable vegetable production
4pm-4.30pm AEST | Wednesday 7 September
The Soil Wealth ICP team is hosting a series of 30-minute webinars focussing on area wide management (AWM) strategies to control key viruses in cucurbits, capsicums and lettuce.
AWM strategies for vector-borne diseases will help to prevent or minimise the development of insecticide resistance in vector populations, improve the efficiency of biological agents released for control of vectors, and better protect host resistance genes against the emergence of resistance-breaking strains of the viruses. It also provides management options when host resistance genes are not available.
The next webinar in the series will focus on capsicum viruses including tomato spotted wilt virus (TSWV), pepper mild mottle virus (PMMoV) and insect transmission with presenter Denis Persley from the Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries.
