Three plane loads of foreign farm workers set to land in WA
As part of the Western Australia Seasonal Worker Programme (SWP) and Pacific Labour Scheme (PLS), another 500 foreign workers will touch down in Perth by April to help pick WA’s fruit and vegetable crops.
About 160 workers from Fiji are due to land in Perth on 16 March, followed by a further two flights carrying a similar number from Vanuatu.
Recently, WA’s SWP and PLS successfully landed two flights from Vanuatu to fill labour shortages in the horticulture, food processing and hospitality industries.
The two flights landed on 21 December and 7 January with 154 and 160 workers, respectively.
If you would like to be involved, or find out more information on SWP or PLS, please contact the vegetablesWA labour scheme facilitator, Melissa Denning on 0477 477 044 or at firstname.lastname@example.org.
Melissa will be in Carnarvon from 23 to 26 February to discuss labour needs.
