The majority of the world’s bees build their nests underground. Of Australia’s 2,000 native bee species, about 70% are ground nesting.

Join Dr Megan Halcroft from Bees Business and our guest Speakers:

Dr Jordan Kueneman from Cornell University, will be talking about his project “GNBee”, and how they are trying to increase the community awareness, nest mapping and conservation of ground nesting bees.

Dr Terry Houston from the Western Australian Museum, will be talking about some of our amazing ground nesting bees, in the family Stenotritidae.

Thomas Mesaglio a PhD candidate from the University of NSW specialises in citizen science he will be sharing his experience in using community collected data for the conservation of insect species.
