Farm Biosecurity Planner
16 December 2025We are asking people to keep an eye out for Tomato Potato Psyllid (TPP). One way that you can play your part in protecting Tasmania’s vegetable industry is by joining our pest monitoring program and hanging an insect sticky trap in your garden and send it back to us for review.
Tomato potato psyllid is a tiny sap-sucking insect that feeds on Solanaceous crops such as potato, capsicum and chilli. It can also transmit a bacterium known as Candidatus Liberibacter solanacearum which causes Zebra chip, a serious disease of potato. Neither of these pests occur in Tasmania.
Who can participate?
You can! Anybody can opt in to the monitoring network and receive a trapping kit – home gardens, community gardens, schools, and more!
Download the attached file above to learn more about how the process works.

- Opt-in up by completing the form
- You will receive a trapping kit with instructions in the mail
