This project was undertaken to establish a tomato leafminer monitoring system for the farming district and to routinely alert growers of the leafminer status at a district level. It achieved a district tomato leafminer monitoring system, a seasonal break in production, and investigation into alternative pest management strategies, namely biological and chemical methods. Over the duration of this project, growers have been more aware of sustainable pest management and IPM techniques.
