Atlantic is a preferred crisping variety in Western Australia as it has a high specific gravity and normally produces desirable crisp colour. However, experimental results indicate that there were more blemishes, shrivelling and sprouting in Atlantic compared to Cadima in medium to long term storage. This project was undertaken to improve the postharvest handling, storage and processing quality of Atlantic and Cadima potatoes.
