27 July 2022Top End field walk showcases soil health improvements
2 August 2022Last week, members of the AUSVEG Extension and Engagement team attended the inaugural Far North Queensland Growers R&D Field Day.
More than 400 people filed through the gates at the Mareeba turf club, where they took the opportunity to network and engage with growers, other peak industry bodies, a wide range of industry stakeholders and commercial operators, and share the latest in vegetable and potato research, development and extension.
The AUSVEG stall – led by Queensland Department of Agriculture and Fisheries’ John Duff and AUSVEG’s Cherry Emerick – featured a hands-on demonstration on serpentine leafminer.
Representatives from cross-industry programs, iMapPESTS and Boosting Diagnostics, took the opportunity to engage with stakeholders from the FNQ region, famous for its diverse crop production, including sugar, cotton and a wide range horticulture crop.
A massive thanks to FNQ Growers for organising an outstanding event and thanks to the sponsors, TGT Agricultural, Rural, Irrigation & Hardware Supplies and platinum sponsor Hort Innovation , and the many others that supported this concept.
