16 February 2021Fall armyworm (Spodoptera frugiperda) is a plant pest native to the Americas.
It was first detected in Australia in 2020 and has since spread across Queensland, Northern Territory, Western Australia, New South Wales, and Victoria.
In Victoria, there have been recent sightings of fall armyworm in Orbost.
Growers and agronomists in Victoria, and nationwide, are reminded to check their crops for signs of fall armyworm.
