Potato cyst nematode (PCN) and pale or white potato cyst nematode pose a threat to the WA Potato Industry. PCN was detected in two states of Australia and these small areas are continually monitored by quarantine. White potato cyst nematode has not been recorded in Australia. The biology and symptoms caused by both species are similar. This factsheet provides an overview of the background, distribution, potential impact, season of occurrence, and symptoms of the two species.
