With not enough water to plant vegetable crops, how can compost use maximise water benefits to your crop and soil health?

When irrigation water is scarce, growers can adapt to these dry times, maximising water benefits to crops by using compost to boost both crop growth and soil health.

In an ABC Rural interview, grower Anthony De Ieso shares his experience with compost use reducing his irrigation inputs and costs.

Anthony took part in last year’s South Australian Grower Compost Trial, facilitated by AUSVEG SA and the Soil Wealth ICP project.

Carried out in early to mid-summer, it followed the introduction of organic matter and targeted irrigation management with reduced water input. Click here for more detail.
