2018 Women’s and Young Grower Industry Leadership and Development Mission
These two industry leadership and development missions provided opportunities for women working in the Australian vegetable industry and emerging leaders in the same industry to visit innovative growing operations across Europe, the United States and New Zealand.
The 2018 Women’s Industry Leadership and Development Mission visited an array of vegetable growing operations, packaging facilities, distribution centres and markets in France, Belgium and the Netherlands. The Young Grower Mission visited growing operations, processors and chemical companies in New Zealand and the United States, including in the Salinas Valley.
Both missions performed the valuable dual roles of giving growers insights into overseas industries and strengthening networks within our own industries, bringing together participants from around the country to form personal and professional bonds.
