Performance Summary:
- Both dollar and kilogram sales are growing for Onions this year, at +4.2% and +1.6% respectively. In terms of the
change in kilogram sales, Onions performed ahead of total market, and all comparable vegetables. - The average price per kilogram of Onions continues to increase this year (+2.6%), but at a slower rate vs two years
ago, and not at pace with total market or comparable products. - In line with the trend apparent across all comparable vegetables, household reach has hit the lowest point in the last
3 years for Onions with 88.7% of all Australian households purchasing at least once annually. Purchase frequency
levels are growing however. - Prepacked Onions have been the driver of declining kilogram sales in Major Supermarkets this year, with loose
sales unchanged compared to one year ago. - Against total market results, Onion kilogram sales declined within Senior Couples and families with younger children
and teenagers this year
