Webinar: Pest and beneficial identification for vegetable IPDM presentation
In December 2024, IPM specialist Andy Ryland from IPM Consulting presented on insect pests and beneficials at a practical workshop to growers and agronomists in the Sydney Basin.
Rerecorded here for those who weren’t able to attend, Andy’s presentation provided a guide for vegetable crop advisors, agronomists and growers on effective ways to identify insect pests and beneficials, and best practice integrated pest and disease managements to prevent and control key pests.
The presentation covered the importance of monitoring for pest insects and beneficial insects, where they can usually be found and what and when interventions should be implemented. The presentation looked at key brassica pests including diamond back moth, cabbage white moth and cluster caterpillars, aphids and thrips, and biological control options.
