This project was undertaken to identify the viruses present in Australian garlic and to produce antisera for the development of enzyme-linked immunosorbent assays, to eliminate the viruses of particular garlic cultivars through tisse culture of the meristems and to maintain a nucleus of these cultivars as pathogen-tested stock, and to develop improved methods for tissue culture production of garlic.
