Potato virus Y (PVY) infects many Solanaceous plants including potato, tomato, pepper, eggplant and weeds such as Solanum nigrum (nightshade). The virus has many strains and variants including PVY-NTN, also referred to as Potato Tuber Necrotic Ringspot Disease.
