This study tour subsidised by the National Vegetable Levy, aim to provide local growers with insight into key trends in the US vegetable industry. The tour also allowed for observation of the size of some of these opertations and the labor intensive nature. Clear outcome of the tour was whilst Australia’s vegetable industry cannot compete on a cost of production level, it is supperior at innovation, managing liited resources and caring for the environment.
