Dr Len Tesoriero from Crop Doc Consulting and Andy Ryland from IPM Consulting have a chat about managing issues that have arisen in a cabbage crop on the Sydney Basin following a flood.
One of the most significant problems is an increase in brassica weeds like wild radish, which has provided an alternative host for diamondback moth (Plutella xylostella), one of the most damaging pests for cabbage crops.
Dr Tesoriero and Andy discuss management options for this destructive pest.
The Building Biosecurity Capacity and Resilience within the NSW Vegetable Industry project is funded under the Storm and Flood Industry Recovery program, jointly funded by the Australian and NSW governments, and supported by AUSVEG.
