Register for an upcoming webinar on Thursday 9 July from 12 noon to 1pm (AEST), to learn the potential role cover crops play in managing mycorrhizal fungi in vegetable production.
Hosted by Applied Horticultural Research, the webinar will hear from Dr Kelvin Montagu who will discuss:
- Why mycorrhizal fungi?
- Do Australian vegetable crops have mycorrhizal fungi – a survey of 50 vegetable crops.
- Levels of mycorrhizae in vegetable growing soil.
- Trials adding inoculant to cover crops.
- Trials adding inoculant to cover crops and vegetable crops (leeks/corn).
The webinar will present the work undertaken in the Hort Innovation-funded project Optimising Cover Crops for the Australian Vegetable Industry (VG16068).
