The paper has been prepared from desktop research and selected interviews with AUSVEG and HAL staff and with the Chair and a member of the EnviroVeg committee. It also includes feedback received from HAL on a draft version. The purposes of this paper are to: 1. provide insights on the characteristics, benefits and issues associated with investment in a vegetable industry environmental assessment a. as a means of confirming the policy case and benefits for investing in such an assessment 2. provide background and context for draft terms of reference prepared by Inovact Consulting for the conduct of a vegetable industry environmental assessment.
