12 March 2025Integrated pest management consultant Andy Ryland chats to vegetable grower Matt Grech, from the Camden region in New South Wales, about the direct impacts of flooding to his farms.
The first floods of the year saw the loss of topsoil from fallow blocks, while a second flood later in the year caused losses of early plantings. Weed infestations have been an ongoing challenge since, such as wild radish, which establishes along river embankments and encroaches upon productive cropping areas.
