8 July 2026Postharvest management of vegetables to extend shelf life
8 July 2026This project is developing BiosecurityTrakka, a national platform to enable near real‑time diagnosis, monitoring, and information sharing for plant biosecurity threats across Australia.
BiosecurityTrakka will provide a secure, shared digital environment where biological sequence data can be uploaded, analysed, and visualised, supporting faster and more informed decision‑making during pest and disease incursions. The platform is designed to cut through jurisdictional barriers by enabling rapid data sharing between Australian governments and biosecurity agencies.
The project aims to strengthen Australia’s biosecurity system by improving early detection, diagnostic capability, and coordination across jurisdictions, helping protect horticulture industries, support market access, and reduce the impacts of exotic and emerging plant pests and diseases.
This project has been funded by Hort Innovation, using the research and development levies listed below and contributions from the Australian Government. Hort Innovation is the grower-owned, not-for-profit research and development corporation for Australian horticulture.
