This investment was contracted to help combat the threat of cucumber green mottle mosaic virus (CGMMV). Its work includes identifying weed hosts of the virus and the potential role of other factors, including honey bees, in its incidence. It is also developing improved diagnostics for plant and seed material, with a view to developing in-field tests for rapid detection, and producing guidelines and other materials to support improved virus management and help growers strengthen on-farm biosecurity.

This project has been funded by Hort Innovation, using the research and development levies listed below and contributions from the Australian Government. Hort Innovation is the grower-owned, not-for-profit research and development corporation for Australian horticulture.
