Study tour undertaken in June 2003 in which nine potato growers and three industry representatives from Victoria and NSW took part in a study tour to the Bundaberg and Atherton, Qld, to investigate using sub-surface drip on potatoes. The primary outcome of the tour is that participants have been encouraged to continue to develop sub-surface drip as an irrigation method for potatoes. The Qld experience has caused growers to rethink the design and engineering of their current machinery used to lay tape.
