This projects details the creation of two demonstration sites to help growers assess the benefits of converting from soil-based to hydroponic production systems specifically where soil-borne diseases and declining soil health are reducing productivity in protected cropping systems. Information from the demonstration sites has been used to provide additional information for the Best Practice Manual, including economic benefits, troubleshooting and key management decisions such as planting times and irrigation strategies.
