Now part of the the Hort Frontiers Fruit Fly Fund, this project is developing a ‘temperature-sensitive lethal, male-selecting’ strain of Qfly. To put simply, the research will allow for male-only, sterile fruit flies to be bred in large numbers. The vegetable industry is one of several contributors to the investment.
