Foodservice foundational market insights
5 August 2022National vegetable industry communications program
1 September 2022The aim of project VN21000 is to support increased awareness and adoption of industry-funded, local and global research and development (R&D), as well as industry-funded marketing activities, by communicating and extending research outcomes, demonstrating the return on investment from the onion levy and working with the whole onion value chain to improve growing and business practices in the onion industry.
AUSVEG has incorporated onion industry communications into its existing vegetable industry communications and extension programs, expanding the remit of AUSVEG’s communications services and the VegNET 3.0 program to formally include the onion industry. The project is supported by RMCG who is providing technical support as well as undertaking the role of the M&E manager.
A wide range of communications outputs is delivered by the project to onion growers, including:
- The quarterly Australian Grower magazine, with 36 pages of dedicated onion content
- The AUSVEG Weekly Update e-newsletter, with onion content
- A range of onion-focused content such as videos, podcast, case studies, factsheets, media releases and social media.
- An annual disease alert poster.
This project has been funded by Hort Innovation, using the research and development levies listed below and contributions from the Australian Government. Hort Innovation is the grower-owned, not-for-profit research and development corporation for Australian horticulture.
