Key Findings:

• Leafy Asian Vegetables registered double-digit dollar sales growth this year at 15.6%, with marginal volume (kilograms) sales growth of +1.0%. ; Amongst comparable vegetables, only Zucchini and Kale recorded an increase in volume sales this year.
• Ahead of Total Vegetables, at +7.7%, Asian Vegetables average price per kilogram increased by +14.4% this year
• As per the trend for Total Vegetables, there has been a positive shift in Asian Vegetable purchase frequency numbers this year. It is higher purchase frequency and spend per trip that is propelling growth.
• All retail channels are driving dollar sales growth for Leafy Asian Vegetables this year, with Other (smaller) supermarkets growing the fastest. Major supermarkets and Greengrocer/Markets registered declining volume sales, dampening the national result.
• The prepacked format is the key contributor to dollar sales growth in Major Supermarkets this year – whilst dollar sales are growing for the loose format, volume sales are declining.
