RIPPA’s visit to Bundaberg happening this Friday, so register now!
On Friday 29 June, you can join Bundaberg Fruit & Vegetable Growers (BFVG), University of Sydney researchers and RMCG to see the RIPPA in action as it visits Bundaberg.
The RIPPA, or Robot for Intelligent Perception and Precision Application, has been developed with Hort Innovation for the vegetable industry and has the ability to collect data using sensors that can map an area of a crop and detect weeds, estimate yield and fertilise crops.
As part of its winter roadshow, the RIPPA will be visiting Bundaberg in an event coordinated by BFVG as part of its delivery of the VegNET extension program in the region.
Time/date: 10:00am-12:30pm, Friday 29 June 2018 (includes BBQ lunch)
Location: Department of Agriculture and Fisheries Research Facility, 49 Ashfield Road, Kalkie, Bundaberg QLD
This field day will include not only an in-field demonstration of the RIPPA’s capabilities, but also an exploration of the applications of drone technologies on vegetable farms, with Joshua Caccioppola from Northern Agriservices giving a presentation and demonstration of how drones can be used to support production.
A full flyer for this event is available. If you’d like to register for the event, you can sign up on the event page here. If you have any questions, contact BFVG Industry Development Officer Michelle Haase on 0428 716 218.
