The 2017 edition of Grower Success Stories – Real results from the potato R&D levy is now available online!

The annual Grower Success Stories highlight the real-world, on-farm results and impact of the strategic levy investments made through the Hort Innovation Fresh Potato and Potato Processing Funds. This year, the booklet looks at six industry members who are seeing improvements to their business as a result of this research and development:

  • John Jackson (McCain Foods Australia/New Zealand) and how IPM has been used to control the tomato potato psyllid. (PT09004)
  • Aaron Haby (Forster Hill Farm) and how networking benefits and increased industry knowledge from a study tour to Europe have helped increase his potato production. (PT10702)
  • David Nix (NixPax) and the impact of preventative on-farm biosecurity practices in helping to keep his farm safe. (MT16018)
  • Andrew Wilson (Wilson Agricultural) and the benefits of the PreDicta Pt soil testing service in improving crop quality and informing on-farm decisions. (VG15049)
  • Matthew Gay (farmer; President of Crookwell Potato Growers’ Association) and how potato industry communications help him stay up-to-date with industry news and developments in farming practices. (PT15007)
  • Tim Heysen (Heysen Partners) and the impact of groundwater quality on the management of centre pivot-grown potato crops. (PT16001)
