Hort Connections 2019 will offer an exciting line-up of speakers across a variety of streams, giving every delegate the chance to come away with valuable new knowledge following the three-day event.

As always, the premier conference for the Australian horticulture industry will also feature plenary sessions – presentations on the first morning of Hort Connections from a series of speakers whose knowledge and experience can benefit the more than 3,250 attendees expected at this event.

This year the Plenary Sessions will kick off from 8:00am on Tuesday 25 June following the morning’s breakfast session, and will be sponsored by Hort Innovation, the not-for-profit, grower-owned research and development corporation for Australian horticulture.

After an introduction from Toby Travanner, five speakers will take to the microphone:

  • James Whiteside (CEO, AUSVEG)
  • Darren Keating (CEO, PMA A-NZ)
  • Sandro Demaio (co-host on the ABC’s Ask the Doctor)
  • Adam Liaw (celebrity chef, author, TV presenter and MasterChef winner)
  • Samantha Gash (endurance athlete, inspirational speaker and ambassador for World Vision and the Royal Flying Doctor Service)

With such a variety of speakers from both within and outside our sector, this year’s Plenary Sessions promise to provide some fresh perspectives on the future of Australian horticulture and some experienced insights into the issues affecting growers, packers, processors, and everyone else in the world of fresh vegetables, fruit and cut flowers.
