The National Awards for Excellence are the most prestigious awards in Australian horticulture. These Awards recognise and celebrate leading industry members, and this year, 69 growers, businesses, researchers and industry representatives are in the running for the 10 award categories.

The Awards highlight the accomplishments of our industry’s leaders, and are an opportunity to celebrate our best and brightest. Previous award winners have gone on to be recognised in the broader industry for their great work and their impact on the sector – for example, 2017 ABC Rural and Kondinin Group Australian Farmer of the Year Andrew Bulmer was celebrated as the 2011 AUSVEG Young Grower of the Year, and 2017 Rabobank Emerging Leader winner Nathan Free won the AUSVEG Young Grower of the Year award in 2014.

These nominations recognise the recipients’ hard work for our industry and reflect the respect they have earned from their peers and colleagues who put them forward for nomination. We’d like to thank everyone who contributed to the nomination process, and we congratulate each nominee and wish them all the best of luck!

Nine of these 10 awards will be presented at the Hort Connections Gala Dinner on Wednesday 20 June 2018, while the Exporter of the Year Award will be presented at the Export Seminar on Monday 18 June 2018.

If you haven’t already registered to attend the biggest destination in Australian horticulture, including this great opportunity to network and celebrate the best of our industry with 1,300 other guests, register online!
