Rapid reporting of exotic plant pests is critical: early detection gives Australia the best chance to effectively control and eradicate pests. If you find something you believe could be an exotic plant pest, call the Exotic Plant Pest Hotline immediately to report it to your local state or territory government.

Call 1800 084 881 to connect to an automated system that allows you to choose the state or territory that your report relates to. You will then be connected to the relevant authority for that jurisdiction. Most lines are only monitored during business hours, but outside of those hours, please leave a message and your call will be returned as soon as an officer is available.

If you are near a border, you may reach a different jurisdiction based on your phone tower. Please speak to these officers, as they will assist you to get to the right authority. Biosecurity is a collaborative effort and the states and territories work together.

For more information on the opening hours of each state and territory’s biosecurity authority, please see the Plant Health Australia website. Each jurisdiction also has an alternative contact to ensure no report is missed.
